THE HIGHLANDS

So I'm a few weeks late on this post (along with many others), but the mural is complete. If you've driven down Bardstown Rd. headed south then you've undoubtedly seen it. Kirby Stafford did an amazing job bringing my design to life.

A yardstick, stick of chalk and printed piece of paper of the layout is all he needed. I hope to have many more collaborations with Kirby in the near future, as his craft and enthusiasm for hand lettering is truly a dying art. Many thanks to the Highlands Commerce Guild and The Wine Market for the opportunity. Here's a few shots, for your viewing pleasure.

LU-LU BEA

June marked the birth of our second child, a beautiful baby girl by the name of Luella Bea.

HIGHLANDS MURAL

In Louisville, KY, the highlands neighborhood/area is a must visit destination for visitors, and a place that is special to anyone who lives in the city. Fantastic restaurants, and countless independent businesses run all along a stretch of bardstown rd.

Anyways, the highlands commerce guild recently held a competition, for artist's and such to submit proposals for a mural to be painted along the side of The Wine Market building, in the very heart of the highlands. Now, I cant paint, and I dont pretend to even entertain the idea. However, I really liked the idea of big bold typography popping off a brick building, reminiscent of older days while carrying a contemporary message.

Somehow, my piece was selected. Kirby stafford, who painted my pieces for Beer engine Brewery, will be doing the painting. Plenty more to come, including pics of the building etc.

JAPAN

August marks the Japanese release of Frontier(s) album "There will be no miracles here". The goal was to have the album art be a stark contrast from their U.S/european packaging. Mission accomplished.

ANCHORS AWAY

Every once in a while a project comes along that just clicks. Scotty Perry wanted to rebrand his work with something more personal, with an emphasis on simplicity. The end result coincides beautifully with his work, and really pulls through in print & deliverables.
