Recently completed cover for Louisville Magazine's Top Lawyers issue. I opted to illustrate the city's old courthouse, then applied lettering that worked appropriately with the theme and placement, swooping down around the statue of Thomas Jefferson.
Banner Year
Last week marked the opening of my solo show "Banner Year" at Why Lou Two here in Louisville, Kentucky. The collection featured 8 handcrafted banners that will be on display thru the month of March, and are available for purchase.
To create the banners, I designed 8 simple quotes that served as part motivation, part fun. The canvas was prepared and handed over to sign painter extraordinaire Kirby Stafford, to paint the designs. Once the lettering was complete, Ian Luijk of Bloembuild lent his expertise in helping me with the final assembly of each piece. I couldn't be happier with the results, and though I didn't get the chance to snap photos at the show opening, I want to thank everyone who came out. Overwhelmed by the turnout & support from this city.
Banner Year Solo Show
I'm excited to announce my first solo show will be opening in just under 2 weeks on Friday March 7th, from 5-9pm here in Louisville, KY at Why Lou Two. I've been working really hard on the pieces for this show & will be posting several peeks on dribbble and instagram over the next 2 weeks leading up to the show. If you'll be in town i'd LOVE to see you at the show. More details at the official event page.
New Work: Chrysler for the American Music Awards
I'm happy to be getting to share some work I did for Chrysler at the AMA's this past November. The piece was included in the awards program, celebrating Jimmy Iovine's (Interscope, Beats by Dre) Lifetime achievement award. The idea was to create some lettering set atop vinyl records, for a feel that mixed the old with the new. From sketch to completion, this was a really fun process.
CommArts 2014 Typography Annual
I'm absolutely honored to have work selected & featured in the CommArts 2014 Typography Annual. Of the 1,894 entries submitted, only 152 were selected by the incredible panel of judges. The Falls city mural we created earlier this year was selected to receive an award of excellence. The annual is full of absolutely incredible work and I highly recommend picking up a copy on bookshelves now, and available to order online as well.
